Hey! In case you haven't heard, we're totally in the PAX10 this year! But that's not all -- we also have teamed up with the totally cool dudes making Closure for a super fantastic indie PAX booth! We arranged for this booth to happen well before the PAX10 was announced, so now it looks like we're going to have double Snapshot trouble at PAX this year.

If you're going to be at PAX, this means that you can check out Snapshot at TWO different locations in the expo hall! We're going to be at booth #597 and #599 with Closure, and also at the PAX10... and I don't know what booth number that is, but you should be able to find it. At each location we're going to have a different demo of the game, each with a different set of levels. We're also going to have two different sets of totally awesome buttons to give out at each booth, so if you want to get them all you'll have to track us down at each location.

The official press release for the booth is right here, and I would be eternally grateful along with Pete and Dave (and WiL) if you could spread the word. Also, hopefully very soon we will be announcing some things related to the future of Snapshot... but until then, stay tuned, and I can't wait to see everyone at PAX!

That's right!

You'll be able to play Snapshot at PAX Prime this year along with the other games being recognized in PAX 10. While you're travelling the expo hall during the show, keep an eye out for the PAX 10 booth as well as any Snapshot banners.

We had a blast being in the Boston Indie Showcase at PAX East, and can't wait to show the game off again.

If all goes as planned, Myself (Programming), Peter (Business and Art), Kyle (Art and Design), and WiL (Music) will all be there. Stop by and say hi, or ask us anything about the game.

Wow. After a solid 13 hours of what I like to call "catch-up" sleep, I'm ready to reflect on how amazing of a show PAX East was for us. There was no greater joy then seeing thousands of gamers sit and spend some time with our game. I think it's safe to say that the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Without further adieu, I'd like to share with our patient public our brand new trailer. In it, we have a few clips of the demo we had at PAX East, along with a few more surprises. We hope you enjoy it! And from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all of your support.

PS If you haven't already, make sure you like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter! We're giving away free t-shirts to some lucky fans this Wednesday!

What better way to round a busy week than to treat our loyal fans to a special gameplay video to whet your appetites. There are a few new things we're showing off in this one, so keep your eyes peeled. My disclaimer is that we're constantly revising content to make the best possible Snapshot, so what you see may not make it into the final game. What I can say is that the lighting is awesome, and we love it so.

Without further ado, check out the video below (and pass it on!).

How rude of us! We welcome you in, give you a tour of Snapshot, and fail to introduce you to the manor of the house. Meet Pic, the picture taking robot. He comes equipped with a camera so awesomely awesome, it absorbs anything caught within its gaze.
Image
Not only can he capture objects, but he can capture an object's motion. A thrown bomb that's captured will continue soaring once that picture is pasted again. Plus, his special lens can see things that we can't! Use it to discover special secrets and uncover hidden areas. There's no telling what his camera will capture, copy, or uncover.

Image

Don't let his size fool you, but he's one tough robot. Run, jump, grab ledges, crawl through small spaces, there's almost nothing that can stand in his way. Something tells me there's a big adventure waiting just around the corner...

Make sure you check out his most recent photo shoot!

First things first. What a great reception for our trailer! Thank you so much for all your positive comments and words of encouragement. I must say, after nearly two years in the dark, it's nice to hear that everyone is still just as excited as we are. We're so happy with the trailer's reception and for your all around awesome patience for our months off the radar, that we're going to give you the trailer's theme song!

One well-deserved compliment that kept coming up was how great the trailer's music was. In case you missed it, alongside the new art, new story and new gameplay elements, we've gone and added new music too. And that can only mean one thing: a new composer! A big, hearty welcome to WiL Whitlark, the master behind the melodies. He's responsible for the stellar sound from this most recent trailer, as well as the entire upcoming composition.

So, since we're really excited with the work that WiL has been doing, we wanted to share some of that excitement with you as well. A bonus song is available for download below, and it's a good one. Listen to them, imagine playing Snapshot, then share the love. Enjoy!

We're pleased to bring you the first footage in over a year! Boasting gorgeous new art, amazing new music, an exciting new adventure and the same awesome camera that we all know and love (with a few added features of course).

Now, objects caught in motion, continue moving once they're pasted! Snap a picture of a falling bomb, and paste the picture upside down to see it come hurtling up at your enemies! Also, is that rock too big to capture in a picture? Take a picture of yourself and gain an extra set of hands to help push it out of the way! These are just a couple of the new and exciting gameplay elements we've been adding, and we're certainly not stopping there.

So...why are you still reading this? Go check it out!

Last night I had the pleasure of speaking to the Boston Indies about the importance self-imposed restrictions during in game design. It was sort of a pre-mortem of Snapshot as we've now come into our own developmental stride. The bad news is I'm not going to reiterate the entire presentation online; the good news is that we've posted some new screenshots!

I know we've kept a low profile, but it's high time for a little more show and tell, don't you think? Exciting updates are on the horizon!

Whoa check it out, it's a new screenshot of that game we're working on!

What do we got going on here? Some sort of machinery embedded in the ground with a mysterious blue light emitting from it. Lots of pretty little sparkle effects surrounding our hero -- who noticeably looks a little different from before. Let's get a close up on this guy.

Image
It's pretty sparkly up in here!

Everything is coming along pretty nicely, and we're going to be adding some new life to the forest that you guys will be able to check out soon enough. And no, the sparkles are not the paparazzi taking photos of you. Although, that would be pretty cool... let me write that down in my notes.

Anyway, let us know what you think in the comments! It's not too hard. Just type in your comment, and then click the button that says post comment. I think it says post comment... I can't see it from here. Wait, let me look. Yeah, it says post comment.

(Disclaimer: We wont be posting a new screenshot of Snapshot every sunday... yet.)

With Game Developers Conference just around the corner at 2 weeks away, we've been working on putting together some little promotional materials for Snapshot. We're printing 3 different 4 x 6 postcards this year, each with a different image on the back. Here are some little sneak previews of what the art on each card looks like.

Be sure to try and find us at GDC if you want to grab one of these super amazing hand painted (in Photoshop) images immortalized in the form of ink on paper. Any true collector of Snapshot memorabilia should have at least 20 of each. We've had these cards appraised and we expect each one to be worth millions by the year 2844.

If you can't make it to GDC, we'll probably figure out something to do with these things once the conference is over, but for those who can make it: See you at GDC!
